Annual General Meeting of Chartered Accountants Ireland Leinster Society (June 2023)

After being officially elected as a committee member of the Chartered Accountants Leinster Society this year, I was delighted to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Chartered Accountant House, Dublin, on 16 June 2023. Past, current & future committee members & other members of the Institute gathered for the 95th AGM. For those of you who do not know, Chartered Accountants Ireland Leinster Society is the largest district society of Chartered Accountants Ireland with over 13,000 members. Its goal is to provide educational, professional and social networking opportunities to its members.

A broad agenda was covered at the AGM as we reflected on a successful year gone by. Ann-Marie Costello, outgoing Chairperson for the term 2022-2023, delivered an overview of the fantastic events that took place throughout the year - The Expert Series Webinars, The Dublin Horse Show, The Published Accountancy Awards, and various business lunches to name a few.

The chain of office was then passed to Des Gibney (upcoming Chairperson) who outlined his plans for his term 2023-2024, for what promises to be another great year ahead. Des will also be supported by the newly elected Vice-Chair, Damien Carr, & other members of the Committee. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ann-Marie for her tremendous commitment and input and best of luck to Des and Damien in their new roles.

I am excited to attend this year's events and charitable activities and hope to see you all there!
