Head of Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance

​EMPOWERMENT is delighted present an executive role with a highly respected client providing construction solutions to a variety of global corporations. They provide innovative solutions across a variety of sectors with a keen focus on the development of partners within the group. This key hire will lead the development and implementation of the Group’s risk, compliance, and internal audit functions and will report to the CRO in their Dublin headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the annual & multi-year audits plans and all compliance & governance policies

• Advising on all areas of risk management, ensuring a strong control environment to mitigate potential risk exposures to the organisation

• Production of monthly metrics and key reporting for presentation to the SMT and BoD, to include regular risk & compliance reports

• Support the development and maintenance of robust corporate governance practices.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the internal compliance, risk and audit teams

• Partner closely with other departments (finance/legal etc.) for audit insights and key risk/compliance information

Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years’ experience in Audit, Risk or Compliance

• Experience within a large plc’s or the construction industry highly advantageous

• A professional qualification is essential and can include Accountancy (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), Risk (FRM/PRM) or Compliance (ACOI)

• Superior communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
